Dan was incredibly kind to me when we lived in the Wheaton mission home while I was in high school and he attended Wheaton College. Provided help with homework. Listened to my teenage woes. We got no assistance whatsoever from our house parents.
I donated, pitched or sold almost all my books when I retired and moved to Philadelphia. One of the few I kept was a (1964?) Christmas gift from Dan – JB Phillips Four Prophets. I’ve attached a photo of his inscription. Neither of us held these beliefs later in life but this remains one of my favorite gifts.
